Newman Hall

If you are at least 50 miles away and in need of housing, we will provide a single room at Newman Hall (private certified housing at UofI) with a bathroom shared with 1 other person.  Please contact Alex Chun at park387@illinois.edu if you are in need of a room.

Lucy Ellis Lounge (Room 1080) 

Lucy Ellis Lounge is where the majority of the NCTA lectures and discussions will take place. It is on the first floor of the Literatures, Cultures, and Linguistics Building (LCLB), located behind the elevators.

Art and Design Building

Located at the corner of Fourth Street and Peabody Drive in Champaign, the A&D Building houses the School of Art & Design classrooms, studios, and administrative offices. It is also connected to the Krannert Art Museum. Some hands on activities will be held at the A&D Building.

Japan house

Japan House is a unit of the College of Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  We will be participating in a Japanese Tea Ceremony as a part of the NCTA seminar.

​​​​​​Krannert Art Museum

KAM is connected to the Art & Design Building. It serves the campus of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the communities of East Central Illinois. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the museum’s rich collection of fine art from across the globe, vibrant exhibitions, and engaging events and initiatives with free admission. A KAM curator will be pulling pieces for NCTA participants to see and engage with.

​​​​​​Rare Books & Manuscript Library

Located on the third floor (Room 346) on the north side of the Main Library, the RBML is one of the largest publicly accessible special collections repositories in the United States. Guest speakers for NCTA will be pulling East Asian materials for the participants to see and learn from.
