Theme: Social and Racial Relations in East Asia Yesterday and Today

Indiana University East Asian Studies Center and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Center for East Asian and Pacific Studies are pleased to announce the IL/IN Consortium National Dissertation Workshop on “Social and Racial Relations in East Asia Yesterday and Today” on October 15, 2020. The workshop is designed to enable students to present and engage in intensive discussions of their work in broader East Asian and multidisciplinary contexts. It will be led by an interdisciplinary committee of faculty mentors from the two universities.
All doctoral students whose area of research falls within East Asia are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a doctoral program in the United States and must have begun to draft a dissertation, although they need not have advanced to candidacy. Application must include:

3. A 4-6-page double-spaced dissertation/thesis proposal (including a description of the specific issues being addressed, the intellectual approach, and the materials being studied.
4. A letter of support from a faculty member to be uploaded by faculty here.
The IL/IN Consortium National Dissertation Workshop is a joint program of the Illinois/Indiana East Asia National Resource Center Consortium (IL/IN East Asia NRC), funded by the US Department of Education Title VI National Resource Center program.
