CEAPS Announces New Scholarship for Mandarin Study in Taiwan

The Center for East Asian and Pacific Studies (CEAPS) is excited to introduce a new scholarship opportunity for undergraduate students to study Mandarin in Taiwan. The University Academic Alliance in Taiwan (UAAT) Mandarin Scholarship provides financial support for summer language study at the prestigious National Tsing Hua University (NTHU).

Application Process:

• Step 1: Go to Campus My Study Abroad Application for National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan

• Deadline: February 15, 2025, 11:59 pm CT

• Advisor: LAS advisor Ana Garner will review your application. Schedule an advising appointment with her to discuss your application.

• Step 2: Go to NTHU Application for post-Acceptance NTHU Application

• Deadline: February 23, 2025, 11:59 pm CT

• After acceptance by Illinois, you will receive instructions to apply for the NTHU-UAAT Mandarin Program. Ana Garner and the NTHU program coordinator will assist you through this process.

• Step 3: Airfare Support Eligibility

• Complete the 120-hour beginner Mandarin course taught by an NTHU visiting teaching fellow at CEAPS, or pass the TOCFL requirement before summer departure.
